Oil Spill from International Space Station
Pretty incredible photo taken by astronaut Soichi Noguchi who is currently floating around in the ISS:

There’s no context provided with the picture, so it’s hard to be sure which part of the photo is oil, and which is water. Generally, oil has photographed as lighter than water from space, so I’m guessing it’s the terrifying, overwhelming lower left section.
The media will soon grow tired of this issue, but this is not a minor disaster. Photos like this one help us keep it in the proper perspective. This should be a major story until the leak is completely stopped and the cleanup is in full force. Unfortunately, this will be back page stuff sooner rather than later.
